Code of Conduct

Section 1: General Information

MancFurs is a private event, free to attend for all furries, pups and their friends / family. Whilst we’re not strictly open to the public, anyone may attend as long as they are respectful.

As an attendee to our events, you are representing MancFurs and its community to the general public. We wish for the general public to be respectful to us, so we ask that you are respectful to everyone else, and help us provide a positive image of furries in the Manchester area.

By attending a MancFurs event, or by joining a MancFurs online space, you agree to abide by the following Code of Conduct policy at all times.

If you require a member of MancFurs staff / crew, you can find us at the meet wearing high vis vests.

For any serious issues, please find an orange high vis vest, or send us a message using the Contact Us page.

Section 2: Behaviour at our events

MancFurs is an 18+ event unless strictly specified.

Anybody attending MancFurs events (including our regular furmeets) as a minor (under the age of 18) will be removed from the event and receive a temporary ban, both from our physical events and online channels.

Anybody found to be enabling this behaviour (knowingly) will also be removed and banned from our events.

ID checks may be in use at random points during any MancFurs event.

You may be stopped and denied entry if you cannot provide a valid form of photographic ID.

Please do not bring any external food or drink onto venue premises, except for bottled water (disposable or reusable bottles).

Anybody found with external food and/or drinks will be asked to leave until they have finished eating / drinking.

Repeat offenders will receive a warning, with further action if required.

Exceptions can be made for those requiring specific dietary requirements. Please speak to a member of staff before attending the meet.

Please consume alcoholic beverages responsibly. If you are heavily inebriated, you may be asked to leave the venue by staff.

Anybody caught littering within the venue grounds will be issued a warning on the spot, with further action where required.

Anybody caught possessing / using / distributing illegal substances whilst on-site at our venue will be reported to the police and removed from our events.

Drinks purchased at our venue must only be consumed within our venue’s grounds; specifically within the dedicated drinking area when outside.

Do not take drinks from our venue to other venues’ seating areas.

If you wish to sit within the confines of another venue, please purchase a drink from that venue.

By attending our events, you are representing MancFurs and its community to the general public.

Behave responsibly, respectfully, and avoid any actions that could be in contravention to the Public Order Act.

We reserve the right to take action against those who intentionally attempt to damage MancFurs reputation by behaving irresponsibly.

Please respect all staff and crew whilst attending our events.

We are all volunteers spending our own time organising community events for everyone to attend.

Please do not touch, hug or follow other attendees and/or fursuiters without appropriate permission and/or consent. Some attendees and/or fursuiters may be uncomfortable with physical touch.

Ask before taking photos / videos of attendees and/or fursuiters.

Anybody caught inappropriately touching others will be removed from the event immediately and potentially issued a ban to future events.

Out of respect for the general public who may be passing through, please keep the public pathway as clear as possible for those with prams, wheelchairs and bikes. There are areas to stand across from the pavement, next to the dedicated drinking area.

You may be asked to move by a member of staff if you are blocking the pathway. This includes both the road and the pavements.

Section 3: Dress Code

Don’t wear anything you wouldn’t be seen wearing in public. SFW only!

Mesh tops and crop tops are permitted, providing they aren’t too revealing and/or expose bare nipples.

Clothing that could be classed as fetish (such as latex / rubber, leather, etc…) must not be worn at any MancFurs event unless specified as okay in advance by event staff.

We allow attendees to wear pup hoods as well as fursuits (perfect for pups who wish to attend our events).

Please ensure your pup hoods are fabric / neoprene only (no leather or latex).

Collars may be worn with or without fursuits / pup hoods, providing they are not pronged, spiked, electric (shock collars), or obviously kink-based.

Preferably, all collars will be nylon webbing or neoprene-based. No leather or latex. Chain-based collars (providing they aren’t spiked) are also okay.

Please do not bring or attach any leashes to your collar. Attendees caught with leashes will be told to remove them.

Neoprene puppy harnesses (bulldog-style / archer-style) as well as nylon fursuit harnesses (e.g. Crunchycurl) are generally allowed, providing there are no D-rings and/or crotch rings.

Harnesses must be easily removable in the event of a medical emergency, so please no overly complex designs.

Leather, latex or rope-based harnesses are not permitted at MancFurs.

Petsuits may be worn at MancFurs events, on the basis that they are used as an under-layer beneath other clothing (such as crop tops and shorts, to hide skin where desired).

Please, no NSFW-themed petsuits.

Please do not attend any MancFurs events whilst wearing bodypaint artwork.

Paint may transfer to other attendees’ clothing and/or fursuits, which could be expensive to repair.

Please do not bring prop weapons with you to any MancFurs events.

If you are unsure whether your prop would class as a “weapon”, please contact a member of staff using our website with a photo of your prop. Where needed, we will peacebound your prop if we deem it to be safe.

Any prop weapons brought to our venue will be confiscated on-sight by MancFurs and/or venue staff.

MancFurs reserves the right to refuse entry to those who ignore this rule.

Whatever you choose to wear, please do not be offended if a member of staff requests that you change a part of your outfit whilst attending our events.

Section 4: Fursuit Lounge

All fursuiters (and their respective handler) must check-in to this area with a MancFurs crew member (both members receiving a wristband) before utilising this space.

Those planning to attend in advance can pre-register for fursuit lounge entry before the meet using our new Telegram bot.

Anyone found in this area without a valid wristband will be removed from the area.

MancFurs and/or MancFurs staff bear no responsibility for your stored items. MancFurs is not liable for theft and/or damage to these items at any time.

Please report any theft and/or damage to the venue or the police where required.

Our fursuit lounge is a private space intended for fursuiters to store luggage and get changed into costume. We please ask that you respect all attendees' privacy in this area.

Anyone caught taking photos / recording videos / livestreaming within this private space (our fursuit lounge) will be removed from the event and issued with an immediate ban.

If storing your camera equipment in this area (under strict approval from staff; please see Code of Conduct: Section 4, Paragraph 2): please replace your lens cap and remove any batteries from the equipment before entering the fursuit lounge.

Please do not take drinks from the bar into the fursuit lounge. There are many expensive fursuits stored in our lounge on a regular basis, and can be easily damaged by drinks such as beer and wine.

You may be able to store a drink temporarily with a member of staff on the fursuit lounge door.

The only permitted drink in our fursuit lounge is water.

We aim to provide free, fresh, cold water for fursuiters to consume within our lounge.

Section 5: Online Social Spaces

Whilst interacting with our online social spaces, such as Telegram or Discord, please ensure that any content you send within these spaces are safe for work.

This includes messages, photos, videos, GIFs, stickers, etc…

Messages may be removed without warning by staff.

Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated. Period.

This includes age, race, gender identity, sexuality, religion, political beliefs or protected characteristics (disabilities, neurodivergence, etc).

Everyone shares different political views. Please avoid bringing up political discussion within our group chats.

Excessive political discussion will be stopped by staff where appropriate.

‘Shitposting’, such as memes, GIFs, stickers, etc is permitted as long as you are sensible and non-disruptive.

Where appropriate, staff will remove anything they deem to be offensive / inappropriate, and you may receive a warning.

Please do not advertise anything in our group chats without explicit permission from a member of MancFurs staff / crew.

Posts may be classed as advertising by staff when they promote currently active art commissions (traditional or digital), sale of personal or business assets, other events (furry or non-furry), etc.

Any unauthorised adverts will be removed, and a warning will be issued. Repeat offenders may be placed on a temporary chat removal.

This also includes posting invite links to other channels / group chats within our group chats.

Section 7: Reporting Grievances

If you wish to report a grievance (against a regular attendee or a member of MancFurs staff), you may do so using our Support Ticket system.

A member of MancFurs staff will review your ticket as soon as possible (outside of our day jobs and other commitments).

This includes harassment and abuse towards other attendees, as well as our team members.

Abusive behaviour aimed at our staff / volunteers will be dealt with immediately - we’re all volunteers spending our spare time to provide this community service.

If a threat has been made towards an attendee (citing violence, criminal damage, etc) either online or at our events, then please report this straight to Greater Manchester Police.

Afterwards, you may give us a heads up to this using the Support Ticket system - citing your Crime Reference Number, who was involved, what happened, etc.

To maintain a positive environment for everyone, we kindly request that you refrain from introducing external drama to any of our spaces, whether online or at the meets.

Any talk about drama (internal or external) will be shut down where possible, and mutes may be placed on accounts to keep this in order.

Everyone has different views and opinions - please respect this.

We aim for a fair process when dealing with all grievances.

Our staff will work together on grievances, as per the MancFurs constitution. Part of this process may include staff reviewing your history in the group, as well as behaviour witnessed both online and at our events.

If the staff team makes a decision on a grievance, we will contact the involved parties when appropriate.

Please respect this decision.

We aim to abide by the following guidelines for all grievances:

1. a quick warning / reminder
2. an official warning via DMs
3. temporary mute / ban
4. permanent removal / ban

All bans and restrictions are appealable unless otherwise stated by a member of staff.

Persistent harassment towards our staff, due to a removal or ban, may lead to a permanent, non-appealable ban.

Blocking a staff member or deleting the chat history during this process may lead to you not being correctly informed about action taken, such as a temporary ban, or any future actions.

If you delete these messages, or prevent further notifications being sent to you, you do so at your own risk of further action taken against you.
