MancFurs is committed to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring the responsible handling of personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you interact with our Fursuit Lounge Check-In System.
Scope of the Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to data collected via the Fursuit Lounge Check-In System operated through the following domains:
These domains include any related private subdomains that are restricted to MancFurs staff and volunteers involved in managing events.
Data Collected
Through the Fursuit Lounge Check-In System, we collect the following information:
- Social media username/handle (as provided)
- Chosen social media platform
- Date of check-in
- A unique, randomised ID generated at the time of check-in
Purpose of Data Collection
The data collected is processed exclusively for the following purposes:
- Property identification and return: In the event that lost property is identified, we may reference the check-in records to contact the owner and facilitate the return of the item.
- Operational management: Data such as check-in times and anonymised IDs are retained to generate event statistics, supporting internal management and event planning processes.
The data collected is accessible only to authorised MancFurs staff and volunteers involved in the organisation of MancFurs events. It is securely stored behind a protected, password-controlled system.
Data Retention and Anonymisation
Personally identifiable information, such as social media usernames/handles and platforms, will be retained for a period of up to 30 days following the conclusion of the event. After this retention period, all personally identifiable data will be deleted, leaving only anonymised information (check-in times and unique randomised IDs) for statistical purposes. This remaining data cannot be used to identify individual users.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure the security of the data collected. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel, and we strive to prevent any unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction of data.
